In order to maximize our ability to process your order and ship your completed banner as quickly as possible, we offer the following suggestions prior to uploading your banner design.
First, please make sure that your uploaded file is at least one of the following types:
- Raster images
- Vector files
- Photoshop EPS
Please note that while Vector images are resolution-independent and can be enlarged or reduced without any loss in quality, other file formats will need to be in the correct size and resolution prior to printing. TIFF, JPEG, Photoshop EPS, and PNG files must be a minimum resolution of 100dpi at 12 inches.
We also recommend that your designs contain 1/2 inch of bleed on all sides to allow for any trimming that may be necessary. In general, canvas sizes can be set equal to the width of your desired stand and a height approximately 3/4 inch taller than the height of the stand itself. Alternately, you'll find that the product page of each stand will feature a template you can use to design your image so that it's a perfect fit.
Beyond these technical suggestions, we often see our clients design their banners in the same manner that they might design a newspaper or web advertisement. Keep in mind, however, that physical banners placed in the real world often come with their own unique design challenges. In most cases, visibility is reduced when banners are placed at trade shows and heavily-attended events. We therefore recommend that the most important elements of your message or image are placed in the top half of your design.
Lastly, we recommend to keep the final location of your ad in mind in order to maximize the effectiveness of your banner. Where will it be placed? Who is your target audience? From how far away do you hope it will attract customers? By keeping these considerations in mind during the design phase, we think you'll see a larger impact and impression on your target.
